What does Justice mean upright?

Look at the situation without the story you usually tell about it. Justice is not revenge and it is not reward; it is proportion. What you have been putting in is what is coming back, and that is good news more often than people expect. This card supports contracts, legal matters, agreements and any conversation where the facts need to be stated plainly. It also asks for personal accounting: where you were unfair, say so; where you were wronged, name it clearly rather than hinting. Decisions made honestly now hold up later, including under pressure.

What does Justice reversed mean?

Reversed, the scales are off. Something is being weighed with a thumb on it: a one-sided arrangement, a version of events with the inconvenient half removed, a rule applied to you and not to others. It can also point inward, to the private court where you judge yourself far more harshly than you would judge a friend for the same thing. Both distortions ask for the same correction. Get the facts, write them down, and separate what actually happened from what you feel about it. Fairness starts being possible only after that.
