Crystals for Anxiety
Lepidolite, blue lace agate and howlite are the three named most often, joined by amethyst, mangano calcite and rose quartz for the softer hours. One honest line before the list, because you deserve it. A crystal does not treat an anxiety disorder. If the fear runs your days, that belongs with a doctor or a therapist, and no stone replaces them. What a stone can do is hold a ritual of attention: cool weight in the hand, one slow exhale, a signal to your body that you have stopped.
The six
Which six stones does tradition name for this?
Six, not sixty. Each one carries a different reason, so you can pick the reason that sounds like your week rather than buying the whole row.
Lepidolite
The stone people hand each other for nerves. It is soft, lilac and slightly soapy to the touch, and that texture is half the reason it calms a restless hand.
Blue Lace Agate
Pale banded blue, traditionally tied to the throat and to saying difficult things calmly. Keep it for the anxiety that lives in an unsent message or an unmade call.
Howlite
White with grey veining, cool and light. Lore gives it to the mind that will not stop rehearsing, which is why it usually ends up on a bedside table rather than in a pocket.
Amethyst
The most common calming stone in the world, and common for a reason. It is cheap, beautiful and carries a single steady association with quiet, so the association does its work.
Mangano Calcite
Pale pink and almost glowing. Tradition frames it as comfort rather than defence, the stone for the evening when you simply need someone to be gentle with you.
Rose Quartz
Included here for the anxiety that is really self criticism. It is the stone of kindness turned inward, held while you say the sentence you would say to a friend.
The practice
How do you work with the set?
Use it as a cue, not a cure.
Hold the stone, breathe out longer than you breathe in, and count four rounds before you do anything else.
Keep one by the bed and one in your bag, where the spiral usually starts.
If the anxiety is constant, book the appointment and let the stone sit alongside real treatment.
Read here as a language of symbols. Medical, legal and financial questions belong with a professional.
Questions
What else do people ask about this?
Can crystals replace therapy or medication?
No. There is no evidence for that and claiming it would be dishonest. A stone can support a calming habit you already keep, and that is a real thing, but it is not treatment.
Why does holding a stone help at all then?
Because a cool, heavy object gives your attention somewhere to land, and the slow breath you take with it is the part that works. The stone makes the breath happen on schedule.

The needs that sit next to this one.
Two ways on
A need is one door in, a stone is another.
Six names, and behind each one the tradition that gave it the job and the plain limit of what it cannot do. The body reads the same set differently, and the seven centres are that reading.
- 104
- stones, each with what tradition says
- 64
- everyday uses, six stones under each
- 7
- centres, the same set read through the body
