Crystals for Communication
Blue lace agate, lapis lazuli and sodalite are the three communication stones, with amazonite, aquamarine and chrysocolla completing the set. The whole group is blue, and in the chakra system all of it belongs to the throat. Tradition divides the work by problem. Some of these are for saying the hard thing, some are for saying it kindly, and one of them is mainly for listening, which people forget is half of the task.
The six
Which six stones does tradition name for this?
Six, not sixty. Each one carries a different reason, so you can pick the reason that sounds like your week rather than buying the whole row.
Blue Lace Agate
Pale banded blue, the gentlest stone in the set. It is given to conversations you have been rehearsing for a week and keep postponing by one more day.
Lapis Lazuli
Deep blue with gold flecks, historically worn by people whose word carried weight. Lore ties it to speaking truthfully when a softer version would be easier.
Sodalite
Blue with white veining and a cooler temperament. It is the stone of the structured argument, given to explaining rather than to confessing.
Amazonite
Green blue and slightly cloudy. Tradition calls it a filter and gives it to the pause between what you feel and the sentence that actually leaves your mouth.
Aquamarine
Sea coloured and clear, an old stone of sailors and of public speech. It is the one people keep for talking to a room rather than to a person.
Chrysocolla
The listening stone of the set. Lore gives it to hearing what the other person actually said instead of the version you were braced for.
The practice
How do you work with the set?
Hold the stone while you rehearse and again while you talk.
The useful part is the rehearsal.
Say the first two sentences out loud exactly as you intend them, because those two decide the tone of everything after.
Keep the stone in the hand you do not gesture with, so it stays a quiet anchor rather than a prop.
Read here as a language of symbols. Medical, legal and financial questions belong with a professional.
Questions
What else do people ask about this?
Which stone before a difficult conversation?
Blue lace agate if you are afraid of being harsh, lapis lazuli if you are afraid of going soft and saying nothing. Pick by which failure is more likely for you.
Does wearing it as a necklace matter?
The tradition prefers the throat because of the chakra link, and in practice a pendant sits where you notice it when your voice tightens. That noticing is the useful part.

Two ways on
A need is one door in, a stone is another.
Six names, and behind each one the tradition that gave it the job and the plain limit of what it cannot do. The body reads the same set differently, and the seven centres are that reading.
- 104
- stones, each with what tradition says
- 64
- everyday uses, six stones under each
- 7
- centres, the same set read through the body
