What is the difference between sodalite and lapis lazuli?
Pyrite. Lapis has small brassy flecks and a warmer, more violet blue, while sodalite is greyer, marbled with white, and never sparkles. Lapis also costs several times as much. In the tradition lapis is given to speaking truth and sodalite to thinking clearly before you speak.
Can I wear sodalite every day?
Yes, though it is soft enough that a ring will scuff where a pendant will not. Take it off in the shower and keep it away from perfume and cleaning products, both of which get into the pores and leave marks. Beads worn under a sleeve last for years.
