Crystals for Negative Energy
Black tourmaline, selenite and obsidian are the three clearing stones, with clear quartz, snowflake obsidian and amber alongside. Negative energy is a phrase that covers something ordinary and recognisable. A room after an argument feels different, and so does a flat after a bad month. Nothing in the air actually changed. What changed is your association with the space, and clearing rituals work by giving you a physical way to mark the end of it.
The six
Which six stones does tradition name for this?
Six, not sixty. Each one carries a different reason, so you can pick the reason that sounds like your week rather than buying the whole row.
Black Tourmaline
The standard clearing stone and the cheapest way into this practice. Traditionally placed at the entrance, since the tradition treats the doorway as where things arrive.
Selenite
The white wand, used to clear the other stones as much as the room. It is soft and dissolves slowly in water, so keep it dry and wipe it instead.
Obsidian
Used for the clearing that is really an ending. Tradition gives it to the flat after someone moves out and to the room where a decision was finally made.
Clear Quartz
The neutral one. Lore uses it to reset rather than remove, placed in the centre of the room after the other work is done.
Snowflake Obsidian
Black with white patterning, read as light appearing inside dark. It is the gentler version, given to a slow recovery rather than a hard clean break.
Amber
Fossil resin, warm and light in the hand. Old European practice used it for clearing heaviness out of a house, often by the window where the sun reaches.
The practice
How do you work with the set?
Open a window first, because every version of this ritual starts with air.
Walk the room clockwise with the stone, say out loud what you are finishing, then leave it by the door for a week.
Finish by cleaning the room properly, the part that changes how the space feels.
Ritual and housework are doing the same job here.
Read here as a language of symbols. Medical, legal and financial questions belong with a professional.
Questions
What else do people ask about this?
Do I need to smudge as well?
Not at all. If you want smoke, use a herb from your own region rather than white sage, which is over harvested and sacred to communities that did not offer it for sale.
How often does a home need clearing?
By tradition after arguments, illness, moving in and the end of something. Doing it monthly on a schedule turns it into a chore and the meaning drains out of it.

Two ways on
A need is one door in, a stone is another.
Six names, and behind each one the tradition that gave it the job and the plain limit of what it cannot do. The body reads the same set differently, and the seven centres are that reading.
- 104
- stones, each with what tradition says
- 64
- everyday uses, six stones under each
- 7
- centres, the same set read through the body
