Kyanite is traditionally described as a stone of alignment, of getting thought and speech pointing the same way. Crystal lore gives it the throat and the third eye together, which is unusual. It is also the stone most often said to never need cleansing.

What is Kyanite known for?
Kyanite grows in flat bladed crystals with a striking property, it is much harder across the blade than along it, which is why the name comes from the Greek for dark blue. Crystal writers built the alignment reading on that layered structure. Does kyanite really never need cleansing?
That is what the tradition says, and it is one of the most repeated claims in crystal writing. It is a belief about the stone, not a tested property. If cleansing is part of your practice, doing it anyway costs nothing.
