Can I put azurite in water?
No. Copper carbonates react with water and acids, the surface dulls, and the run-off carries copper. Never drink water a copper stone has sat in. Wipe it dry instead.
Why is my azurite turning green?
It is becoming malachite, which is what azurite does over time in humid air. The process is slow and cannot be reversed. Dry storage away from steam slows it down.
